{"id":19068,"date":"2015-06-05T02:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-05T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sarahtewphotography.com\/blog\/?p=19068"},"modified":"2015-06-05T02:02:19","modified_gmt":"2015-06-05T07:02:19","slug":"church-around-the-corner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sarahtewphotography.com\/blog\/church-around-the-corner\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicole &amp; James&#8217; Manhattan Wedding at The Little Church Around the Corner &#038; Housing Works Bookstore"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Nicole &amp; James planned their wedding at the beautiful and charming Church of the Transfiguration on East 29th street in Manhattan, to be followed by sweet reception at Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo.\u00a0 I started the day in Nicole &amp; James&#8217; room at The Ace Hotel, where they were preparing just a block away from the church.\u00a0 I was thrilled when in a moment of pre-wedding stress I suggested Nicole get up and jump on the bed to shake it off and she agreed!\u00a0 This was something I&#8217;d dreamed of shooting for a long time and sure enough she looked radiant!\u00a0 We went outside to meet her groom and made our way to the church, stopping for a handful of portraits in spots I had scouted around the block.\u00a0 The Church of the Transfiguration, a.k.a. The Little Church Around The Corner, is historic and charming and full of beautiful details.\u00a0 I was taken thrilled to shoot this lovely ceremony and afterwards we did their family group portraits at the front of the church before the newlyweds headed outside to join guests on a bus down to SoHo.\u00a0\u00a0 James is from Ireland originally and his family all came over for the wedding, so it was fitting that guests were treated to a doubledecker tour between the locations, complete with a storytelling guide.\u00a0 Highlights of the evening included a lively cocktail hour, a delicious buffet style dinner, and a series of witty and moving toasts that were capped off by speeches given by the bride and groom themselves in tribute to one another.\u00a0 It was so special being able to hear them share stories of how they met and fell in love with all their family and friends.\u00a0 I was so honored to capture such an important day in this incredible couple&#8217;s journey together.
