Tracey & Ben’s Lifestyle Engagement Session

I’m so excited to be shooting Tracey & Ben’s wedding this August up at Alder Manor, an amazing 1912 mansion and estate a little ways out of the city (most often used for film shoots and the like, more recently opened up for wedding bookings) with dozens upon dozens of rooms and unique gardens and landscaping!  The location is just perfect for this couple as they have a refined appreciation for vintage aesthetics, and I can’t wait to see what they do with their wedding up there– it sounds like they’ve been working really hard on some exciting elements.  For the engagement shoot they put no less thought into details– Tracey and Ben decided to have me shoot them in their apartment, capturing first a series of scenes from their lives together (what fun!)– from cooking to “gardening” (they have some serious container crops goin’ on!) to relaxing together with their laptops…  I really enjoyed capturing theses vignettes.  Then we went for a walk from their apartment over to Central Park, which they enjoy living near, and of course I spotted a number of great locations to shoot on the way and we finished the session up in the park.  They brought a couple cute hats, a pretty old rainbow umbrella, and we made it up as we went along.  All in all this made for a really fun variety of portraits that totally captures their fun spirit and life together here in NYC.  Thanks for the great shoot, Tracey & Ben– I can’t wait for your wedding!
