Kate & Charles’ Engagement Portraits: Central Park Conservatory Gardens & Meatpacking District

Kate found out about me through her wedding venue– Housing Works Bookstore, and their event team, The Works Catering.  I will be shooting her and Charley’s wedding there this coming October and am so looking forward to it– it’s always so refreshing to shoot a wedding in a non-typical venue like a bookstore– I love it when places present interesting and unexpected visual opportunities!  For their engagement session we decided on Central Park Conservatory Gardens for a starting point.  When I met them they told me it was actually the 1 year anniversary of Charley’s proposal!  I couldn’t help but feel like it was a perfect time for their engagement shoot.  WE strolled through the garden (which *note* does require a permit, so be sure to plan well in advance if you want to do a shoot there!) and I got to work in some really inspiring spots.  After an hour there we hopped in a cab and headed to the meatpacking district and the ever-crowded-yet-always-perfectly-wonderful High Line Park to conclude the session.  Now normally I can fill 2 hours with just a walk around one neighborhood, but give me 2 fantastic spots to shoot and watch out– (there were so many great locations, I couldn’t help myself).  Lo and behold before I knew it the sun is going down and we’re all growing hungry for supper. Thanks for being so great to work with, you guys!  I think you’ll be delighted with the fruits of our labor– check out my favorites below!
