Amy Goodman at The New School, April 4th, 2009

My fiance, Keith and I had the opportunity to go see Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now on Pacifica Radio and co-author of the newly published book Standing Up To The Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times, speak at the New School on Saturday morning. Keith is a teacher and rare indeed is the weekend when we roll out of the house before 11am… (unless I am shooting a wedding of course).. but this was SO worth it! She has got to be the most skilled and articulate speaker I’ve seen in years… just went ON and on with hardly a pause or a break, and it seemed mostly extemporaneously poring out of her, just making connections between one story and another, tying things to current and historical events, etc. This woman is one of our most valuable journalists, and we are so glad to have seen her.
