Ruthie & Rob are getting married later this fall at Ink 48, a cool hotel in midtown Manhattan. I was excited to hear they wanted to do their engagement portraits at least partially around Lincoln Center– I’ve only shot there once before and just as I remembered it, it was a rich visual environment with lots of cool textures and graphic environments to use for backgrounds with this sweet couple. For variety we headed over to Central Park and after a round of great shots with some greenery we hopped in a cab up to the bar where these two actually met! I loved getting to have a beer with them and hear more about their memories of that first chance meeting. I can’t wait to shoot this great couple’s wedding– this fun-loving couple was clearly meant to be!

Jessica & Ross booked me all the way from Dallas when they found me for their wedding next spring on Long Island. They’ll be married at Fresh Meadow Country Club, a venue followers of my blog may remember from Jayme & Brad’s sweet wedding. Scheduling an engagement session was a little tricky but we found a time they’d be in NYC and I couldn’t wait to meet them in person. This couple was so cute and fun, we had a wonderful time exploring the middle of the park on a sunny afternoon in September. After hearing more about the wedding plans I am super excited to see how it all comes together– check back in April to see the photos from their big day!
Eric & Amber are celebrating their nuptials next May at The Metropolitan Club after a church ceremony in Manhattan. For their engagement session they wanted a location with beautiful flora– flowers blooming were important to them. We picked Central Park’s lovely Conservatory Garden and boy was it a great choice– this lovely set of gardens is tucked away in a gated area in the northeast quadrant of Central Park and contains well-manicured hedges, treelined paths, flowers galore, and even a lily-pad laden pond with statuary. I was delighted by this couple’s matching shoes and their outfits were perfect for the location– casually dressed up for a walk in the garden! Check out my favorites from their shoot and check back in May to see their wedding– it’s sure to be a stunner!
Beautiful-every one of them! Jeanne
Heather and James are getting married in December at Housing Works Bookstore in SOHO– a sweet nontraditional venue I just love shooting at! For their engagement session they wanted to capture themselves in their neighborhood of Astoria, Queens. I love getting to do shoots in spots I’ve never been before so this one was a lot of fun for me– walking around and looking for good spots to shoot is something I really get a kick out of, and Astoria was full of cool spots to work with. I met them at their corner and we walked down their street, went up on the elevated train platform and then continued our walk down to the park by the water and concluded our shoot there. Check out my favorites and look forward to a sweet wedding post featuring these two come December!
