Anne & Bret’s Engagement Portraits at Central Park

Anne and Bret live in Connecticut and are getting married in the mountains upstate on June 26th. It’ll be a rustic weekend getaway with their family and friends– I can’t wait! We did their engagement shoot at Central Park and I just LOVE this western/gingham shirt Anne wore– that plus the boots and her amazing hair made for a unique look that really inspired me. Congratulations Anne and Bret!

Alex & Michelle’s Engagement Portraits: High Line Park/West Village

Alex and Michelle are to be married this June at Buttermilk Falls Inn… They found me somehow via the internet and in our consultation meeting we discovered that Alex and I were at Wesleyan together! Small world! They live in manhattan and wanted to shoot around the new(ish) High Line Park and nearby in the west village… they have a really special relationship and it shows! One of their requests was to recreate the cover of The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan– so I did a little research and we went to the exact street where the original image was shot. It’s changed a lot in 40+ years (there were not trees on this street before!) but the shot looks super-cute and I loved being able to fulfill such a specific request.

Open Studios THIS weekend!

My building is full of artist studios (I believe there are almost 180 of us)– every spring we open our doors to the public for a weekend in conjunction with a number of other artist buildings in Long Island City… You can click on ‘directions to my studio’ for a map of where to find me– I’m in 43-01 22nd St, 2nd floor down the hall to your right, all the way at the end of the hall,  corner studio.  I’ll be showing some fine art photography and a few mixed media projects.  Hope to see some friends pass through– but don’t come just for me– make a day of it!  I can’t stress enough how fun and inspiring it is to walk around and peek inside all these artists’ studios– everyone is very friendly and many of us will be offering you wine, cheese and crackers, etc… Oh and just for fun I’ll also have a ‘make your own button’ station set up on my coffee table.
