The Wedding of Alex and Michelle at Buttermilk Falls Inn, Hudson River Valley

Alex and Michelle had a wonderful wedding up at Buttermilk Falls Inn in Milton, NY.  Her gown was by Melissa Sweet and she wore adorable purple heels to match her earrings.  These two looked simply radiant together and we lucked out with the weather and were able to do portraits all over the grounds–  the forecast had called for rain almost all day but it did NOT!  The crowd danced like there was no tomorrow and Alex himself wrote a song for Michelle that he played with the amazing live band.  What a fantastic event all around.  Congratulations, Alex and Michelle!

Kim and David are Engaged!

Kim and David are to be married on July 24th! I was so psyched when they wanted to shoot in Long Island City– my studio is, of course, in LIC but I rarely walk down to the waterfront (Gantry State Park) and I knew it would be an excellent area to shoot this sweet couple. Congratulations, Kim and David! Can’t wait for the wedding…

Why did pepsi every change this amazing logo?  Was it too similar to coka cola?

Fun with graphic foregrounds!

I love this one above.  ok, i like them all a lot but this is one of my top faves.

Who knew that there was this amazing park just a hop skip and a jump from Vernon/Jackson off the 7 train?  Methinks I’m gonna be pushing this as a new favorite location…  yes indeed.

Taking this shot got me excited about Manhattanhenge…

Kim and David work in architecture and they assured me this thing above was some sort of drainage system for the apt complexes behind it.  It’s a mighty good-looking drainage system if you ask me.  Definately worth posing in front of!  I love the neat slanted roof shape and the funny little chain… so many textures and of course those beautiful flowers made it for me.

Ah, another favorite of mine (above)… gotta love those gantries.

What a magnificent spot for a shoot.  Anyone else wanna go to LIC with me???

20’s themed Brooklyn Botanic Garden Centennial Celebration!

June 2nd I was honored to shoot for the Brooklyn Botanic Garden as they celebrated their 100th year with a kickass 20’s themed picnic!

From their site:
“Members gathered for a fantastic evening to officially kick off BBG’s centennial season. Guests danced to music from the 1910s and 1920s, performed by Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra, and enjoyed picnicking and relaxing on the grass as the sun set on Cherry Esplanade. Many members came out in their Jazz Age finest to celebrate, and with a roving magician, old-fashioned treats, and unbeatable weather, it was a perfect celebration of 100 years of BBG.”

Protest at the BP station on Houston St.

Like many of you I am outraged about the oilspill in the gulf and the fact that it is STILL not ‘plugged up’ yet… When I got word that there’d be a demonstration at the BP station on Houston Street I was excited– should I participate (by dressing up like sealife and pouring “oil” on myself) or document… well, it seems documenting was the popular choice! The ratio of photographers to actual demonstrators was probably 15:1! I’m totally serious. We live in an age of constant documentation I suppose. A bit sad really, though i’m not in a position to complain. [slideshow]
